This analysis of AMANDA-II data collected between February 2000 and November 2003 searches for a di?use ?ux of TeV - PeV muon neutrinos from unresolved astrophysical sources across the entire northern sky.
Since astrophysical neutrinos are expected to have a harder energy spectrum than the atmospheric muon and neutrino backgrounds, an energydependent parameter was used to separate the signal and background event classes.
No excess of events was seen in the data over the expected background, therefore upper limits were placed on the di?use ?ux of muon neutrinos based on several di?erent astrophysical neutrino models.
