- First, unlike what is the case in all
wavebands of light, the contribution to the cosmic neutrino flux from our own Galaxy is only at the 10%
level (to be published in the journal Science).
- Second, the flux of gamma rays from the decay of the
neutral pions that accompany the charged pions which decay into the cosmic neutrinos, exceeds the total
extragalactic flux observed by gamma ray detectors.
- At the location of NGC 1068, we observe an excess of 79+22-20
neutrinos with TeV energies [2].
